The Voice of the Soul: Learning to Recognize Intuition Beyond Fear
· Rosemary, intuitive tarot reader
There comes a time in our spiritual journey when we begin to recognize that we are far more than the physical bodies we inhabit, the thoughts moving through our minds, or the identities we have created during this lifetime. Something within us begins to awaken to a deeper understanding of existence. We begin recognizing our connection to Source, to the universe, and to the consciousness that moves through all life. We are not separate from creation, standing outside of it trying to understand its mysteries. We are part of it, experiencing life through our own awareness. And as that awareness grows, we begin to recognize something that has always been within us, quietly guiding us beneath the noise of the human mind. Our intuition.
Through my years of working as an intuitive energy reader, I have come to understand that intuition is much more than a sudden feeling or an unexplained thought. Energy communicates in many ways. Sometimes I recognize it through an emotion, an image within my awareness, a sudden understanding, or an inner knowing that brings my attention toward something deeper. Over time, I have learned the importance of becoming still enough to recognize what I am perceiving without allowing my own emotions to interfere. When I read energy, I am not absorbing another person’s emotions or deciding their future. I mirror what I perceive so they can recognize themselves from another perspective. My purpose has always been to bring awareness, because every soul has free will, and that freedom to choose is one of the greatest gifts we carry into this human experience. But understanding our intuition also means learning to understand the human mind. Throughout our lives, we collect memories, beliefs, expectations, and fears that influence how we see the world. When something hurts us, the mind remembers. When a similar experience appears, those memories can rise before we have even understood what is happening. Fear begins speaking, and suddenly we are reacting not only to the present moment but to everything we have carried from the past. This is where spiritual awareness becomes so important. We begin learning to recognize the difference between a reaction created by fear and the deeper understanding that comes through intuition. Not every fearful thought is a warning, and not every powerful emotion is the voice of the soul. Sometimes what we need most is to become quiet enough to understand what is truly moving within us. This brings me to one of the most important teachings I share with my community: learning how to raise our frequency. In my spiritual understanding, frequency is the energy we nurture through our thoughts, emotions, intentions, and actions. Anger, fear, resentment, frustration, and negativity are what I describe as lower vibrational states. Love, compassion, kindness, forgiveness, and understanding are higher vibrational states, with love being the highest frequency of all. We are human, and experiencing sadness, anger, or fear does not make us less spiritual. These emotions are part of our journey. The lesson is recognizing when we have entered one of these states and learning how to move through it without allowing it to become the place where we remain.
Think about a moment when someone has hurt or angered you. Even after the experience has ended, your mind may continue returning to it. You replay the conversation, remember the words that were spoken, and imagine what you should have said differently. Hours later, the person may no longer be in front of you, yet the anger is still present. Without realizing it, you have carried that experience into the rest of your day. Your thoughts remain connected to it, your emotions continue responding to it, and that energy begins influencing the way you interact with others. This is what I mean when I teach that remaining connected to a lower frequency can continue drawing more negativity into our experience. What we repeatedly nurture within ourselves begins shaping the patterns through which we experience life. And this is where our consciousness gives us an opportunity to change direction. The moment we recognize what is happening within us, we are no longer responding without awareness. We have a choice. We can acknowledge our anger without allowing it to control our next action. We can recognize fear without surrendering our decisions to it. We can pause, breathe, return our awareness to our heart, and consciously begin moving toward compassion and understanding. Raising our frequency is not about pretending that something painful never happened. It is about recognizing that we do not have to continue living inside the pain it created. I have also come to recognize how often people respond to life from a place of fear without understanding what is guiding their actions. Fear can make us defensive, controlling, judgmental, or unkind. It can convince us that hurting someone back will somehow restore what was taken from us. But when we respond to darkness by creating more darkness, we remain connected to the very experience we are trying to escape. Free will gives us another path. We can recognize what someone has done without becoming like them. We can protect ourselves without seeking revenge. We can establish boundaries without hatred and walk away without wishing suffering upon another soul. Choosing love does not mean accepting mistreatment or allowing someone to take advantage of our kindness. It means refusing to allow another person’s actions to determine the energy we continue carrying within ourselves.
The universe has taught me something that reaches far beyond what our human minds can fully understand. When we act from a place of genuine love, we never lose spiritually. We may lose a relationship, an opportunity, or something we deeply wanted to remain in our lives, but that does not mean our soul has lost. When we choose compassion over cruelty, understanding over hatred, and truth over deception, we are developing the wisdom our soul is here to experience. Someone may believe they have won by hurting another person, controlling a situation, or causing suffering, but what has truly been gained? Harm does not become wisdom simply because someone benefits from it. Darkness does not become light because someone believes they have succeeded. The true measure of spiritual growth is not what we manage to take from the world, but what we learn to bring into it. This understanding becomes even deeper when we begin exploring the journey of the soul. I believe Earth is a school for consciousness, where we experience relationships, challenges, love, loss, and countless opportunities to grow through the choices we make. The teachings surrounding reincarnation and life between lifetimes remind us that the soul’s journey is greater than any single human experience. We enter life with opportunities to learn, and those lessons often reveal themselves through the very situations that challenge us to become more aware. Our deepest growth is not simply found in what happens to us, but in who we become through those experiences. This does not mean suffering is deserved or that anyone should remain in a harmful situation. It means that even when we cannot control what happens around us, we still have the freedom to decide what we carry forward. As we grow in this understanding, we also begin to recognize how deeply connected everything is. Look at the natural world. A tree grows from the earth, receives light from the sun, takes in water, and releases oxygen that supports other life. Its existence is part of a much greater relationship. The same is true of humanity. Our words, intentions, and actions reach into the lives of others, often in ways we may never fully see. A moment of kindness can change the direction of someone’s day, and that kindness can continue moving through the people they encounter. Cruelty can leave an impression as well. We are constantly influencing one another through the choices we make, which is why I believe every choice carries energy and every soul has a responsibility for how it uses its free will.
The deeper we study creation, the more we begin recognizing patterns that connect the smallest parts of nature to the greater whole. Sacred geometry, the study of shapes and proportions that carry spiritual meaning, offers one way of exploring these relationships. We see repeating patterns in flowers, shells, plants, and the movements of the heavens. Through the harmonic understanding of number, geometry, and resonance, we begin exploring the relationship between patterns, vibration, and the order found throughout nature. Resonance means responding in harmony with another vibration or pattern. I recognize a beautiful spiritual lesson within this understanding. Just as nature expresses relationships through shape, movement, and balance, we can bring greater harmony into our own lives when our thoughts, intentions, and actions begin moving together from a place of love. The knowledge we gain from studying the universe becomes even more meaningful when we begin applying that understanding to the way we live. And as we continue exploring consciousness, we discover that our awareness is not limited to the constant activity of our everyday thoughts. Meditation, dreams, deep reflection, and expanded states of awareness have long been part of humanity’s spiritual exploration. These experiences encourage us to look beyond the limitations we place upon our understanding of existence. Yet the purpose of spiritual development is not simply to collect unusual experiences or gain knowledge that others may not possess. The greater lesson is learning what those experiences reveal about ourselves. Knowledge becomes wisdom when it helps us develop greater compassion, understanding, and responsibility for the energy we bring into the world.
When I meditate, I bring my awareness inward and allow myself to become still. I work with white light through the crown chakra, the spiritual energy center at the top of the head, and bring that awareness toward my heart. This practice helps me reconnect with the divine presence I recognize within and around me. I am not trying to force an answer or control what comes forward. I am allowing myself to listen, receive, and understand. In that stillness, I become more aware of what I am carrying within myself. I can recognize which emotions need my attention, which thoughts have been influenced by fear, and where I need to return to greater balance.
The more we learn about consciousness, the more important it becomes to remember that spiritual awareness does not make one soul greater than another. Every person is experiencing their own journey, carrying their own lessons, and learning through their own choices. Knowledge without compassion can become another way for the ego to seek control. The ego is the part of our identity that becomes attached to being right, being recognized, or feeling separate from others. True wisdom teaches us to recognize these patterns within ourselves. Spiritual awakening is not about standing above humanity. It is about understanding our connection to humanity and recognizing the responsibility we carry toward one another. This is also why I remind people that raising our frequency does not mean forcing ourselves to feel happy every moment of our lives. Grief deserves compassion. Fear sometimes alerts us to real danger. Anger can reveal that a boundary has been crossed. These emotions have something to teach us, but they do not have to become the place where we remain. We can honor what we feel while consciously choosing how we respond. We can love someone and still walk away. We can forgive without returning to a harmful situation. We can show compassion without surrendering our peace. The goal is not to deny our humanity but to become more conscious of how we move through it.
When I look at everything we study about the universe, from ancient wisdom and the pyramids to the stars, sacred geometry, the journey of the soul, and the mysteries of consciousness, I recognize that all this knowledge carries a greater responsibility. We can spend our entire lives searching for answers about existence, but the deepest spiritual lessons are revealed through the way we treat one another. Understanding the universe means very little if we cannot bring understanding into our relationships. Learning about energy means very little if we continue allowing anger to guide our actions. And speaking about love means very little if we are unwilling to practice compassion when it matters most.
This is where spiritual knowledge becomes something we actually live. Every interaction gives us an opportunity to practice what we have learned. Every difficult moment invites us to become aware of the energy we are carrying. We cannot always control the choices other people make, and we cannot change everything that happens around us, but we can learn to recognize our own reactions. We can choose patience where we once chose frustration, compassion where we once chose judgment, and understanding where we once reacted from fear. These choices are how we begin changing the patterns of our lives. This is how we raise our frequency, deepen our awareness, and continue growing in consciousness.
The soul does not need to compete with the noise of the human mind. It invites us to become still, remember our connection to Source, and recognize that every choice is an opportunity to express who we are becoming. We are not here to become greater than one another. We are here to learn, to grow, and to remember that love is not weakness. Love is the strength that allows us to experience pain without allowing that pain to turn us against one another. It is the awareness that reminds us we can choose a different path, even when fear offers us an easier one.
You may not always win in the eyes of the world, but when you choose to act from love, your soul never loses. ✨
