The Lovers, from the 1909 Rider-Waite-Smith deck: a naked man and woman stand beneath an angel who spreads its arms in front of the sun, a tree of flames behind the man and a fruit tree with a serpent behind the woman, a mountain between them.

The Lovers

Major Arcana, VI · Air · angel number 666

The Lovers means a deep connection and an honest choice made from the heart, with intimacy and emotional truth at its center. Reversed, it points to avoiding a choice, making one from fear, or two people wanting different things without saying so.

Please don't be scared of that number. 666 is heart energy. There's a choice here, and you already know which way your heart's leaning.

From Rosemary's own notes on the card.

The Lovers upright

The angel over the two of them has its hands open, and I always notice that first. Soul connections, relationships, emotional alignment, intimacy, passion, and a decision. The Lovers wants the choice made from the heart, with emotional honesty and authenticity, and it won't let you fake that part. This card carries 666 for me, and let me get this out of the way, because people panic when they see it: 666 should never be feared. It's emotional balance, grounding, self-awareness, reconnecting with your heart center.

The Lovers reversed

Somebody's avoiding a choice, or making it from fear instead of love, and the two of you want different things and neither one is saying so. I'd get honest with yourself first. The conversation with them comes easier after that.

In love

A deep connection, and often a choice sitting inside it. If you're asking about someone, the energy between you reads real, and the question the card is asking is what you do with it.

In work and money

Two paths, and your heart already has an opinion. A partnership at work carries the same energy. The one that feels true usually outlasts the one that only looks right on paper.

As advice

Ask yourself plainly what you want, and answer from the heart. Be honest with yourself first, and the honest conversation with someone else gets easier.

Yes or no?

Yes, because The Lovers shows connection and alignment, as long as the choice you make is an honest one. A single card shows a lean, never a promise of how things turn out.

For yourself

Reconnecting with your heart center. You've been choosing with your head for a long time, maybe years, and this card is asking a simpler question: what do you want?
